DM WATCH conducted the national-level workshop on the impact evaluation of the project ‘Pre-Monsoon Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement in Haor Areas (2nd Revised)’

DM WATCH team has successfully conducted the national-level workshop on the impact evaluation of the project ‘Pre-Monsoon Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement in Haor Areas (2nd Revised)’, commissioned by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), Ministry of Planning. The workshop was held on 26 May 2022 in the conference room of IMED sector-4, Ministry of Planning.

Honorable Secretary of IMED, Mr. Abu Hena Morshed Zaman attended the session as the chief guest. Chief Engineer of North-Western zone of BWDB, Mr. Md. Shahidul Islam, was present as the special guest. The workshop was chaired by the Honorable Director General of sector-4 of IMED, Mr. Md. Saiful Islam. Besides, multiple members from different aligned ministries were also present at the session in person (a total of 40) and virtually (a total of 60).
Mr. Arif Hasnat, the coordinator of the study, presented the project details and findings of the study. The session included discussions on the understanding of the in-depth impact of the project on haor region and the feasibility of undertaking such a project in the future. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the project were also discussed at the session.
