A roundtable dialogue titled “MSMEs for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Bangladesh: Agenda for Policy Reform” was organized on 27 June 2022 by iEntreprene in collaboration with the Center on Budget and Policy, University of Dhaka, and DM WATCH to commemorate the World Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Day at the Conference room of Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka.
The roundtable dialogue explored a favorable policy environment and legal framework for MSMEs in Bangladesh so that MSMEs recover from the crisis and regain strength to contribute to inclusive and resilient economic growth, shared prosperity, and decent work for all.
Kazi Maruful Islam, Professor, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka, chaired the event. Kamalendu Das, Founder of iEntreprene, was the keynote presenter at the dialogue. Munir Hasan, Head of youth, Prothom Alo; Founder, BDOSN; Aminul Islam, CEO, Shahin’s Helpline; Dr. Sanjan Das, Advisor of TMSS; and Mohiuddin Himel, Consultant at JICA, were among other distinguished speakers. Samiha Fairuz Rahman, Officer-Communication and Business Development, and Mohammad Fahim Sayeed, Officer-Research and Knowledge Management, participated as the representatives of DM WATCH.
