Project Description:

The overall objectives of the study were to create a simple, comprehensive and systematic child profile to be used by local government for developing child focused appropriate annual and periodic plan, and budget implementation structure that provides a benchmark for measuring the results of the implemented project. Data has been collected from Shatkhira and Manikgonj districts from May-June in 2014. Both primary and secondary data have been used for the study. For secondary data analysis, a wide range of documents, such as – project documents, Log frame, relevant child rights documents, case study on complaint and response mechanism, child friendly local governance index (Phase 1), lesson learned document on child friendly local governance, Union Parishad Act-1983, 2009, Village Court Act, provision of services to the children by local government have been collected and reviewed. On the other hand, primary data has also been collected and analyzed using quantitative method. CSPro and SPSS software have been applied for data analysis. The study results revealed that children who experience violence at home, school, work place, or community could be at risk of drug abuse, child marriage, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
