In 2014, DM WATCH LIMITED conducted a comprehensive study in Manikganj Paurashava to assess the existing public services, utility infrastructure, and resource availability in the region. The project aimed to identify gaps in service provision and resource management to inform future urban development strategies. The study adopted a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to provide a holistic analysis of the Paurashava’s current state.

The research highlighted critical narrative issues related to public service accessibility, utility distribution, and resource constraints. 1.Project Design and Methodology Development:

    • Designed the study framework and methodology, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to capture a comprehensive picture of the Paurashava’s services and utilities.

2.Data Collection and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Conducted field data collection using household surveys, key informant interviews (KIIs), participatory rural appraisal (PRA), and focus group discussions (FGDs) to gather diverse perspectives.
    • Engaged with community members, local officials, and stakeholders to validate findings and ensure relevance.

3.Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis:

    • Performed a detailed quantitative analysis to evaluate utility distribution, public service coverage, and resource availability.

4.Gap Identification and Scenario Mapping:

    • Mapped the existing scenario of public services and utilities in Manikganj Paurashava.

5.Reporting and Recommendations:

    • Compiled a comprehensive report outlining the study findings, highlighting areas needing improvement, and providing actionable recommendations for enhancing public service delivery and resource management.
