DM WATCH, jointly with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), organized a workshop to share the city-level results on Urban Poor Settlement Mapping in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) under the Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities (LIUPC) Project.
Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Honorable Mayor, DSCC, was present at the workshop as the chief guest. In addition, ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Chief Executive Officer, DSCC, chaired the program.
The honorable chief guest, program chair, Ward Councillors as well as officials from DSCC, representatives from NGO, and journalists from media houses actively participated in the program while sharing their feedback on the shared results of the study by the team leads of DM WATCH—Mr. Md. Bayazid Hasan and Professor Golam Moinuddin. Participants, especially the honorable Mayor and the Ward Councillors provided important feedbacks against the results of the mapping. Team leaders of the study responded to all the queries raised.
LIUPCP is a project launched by the Local Government Division (LGD), Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives (MoLGRD&C)—with financial and technical support of the UNDP, Government of Bangladesh, and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (formerly Department for International Development or DFID).
